Blogging~ Isn't is about.....Time?

Hello family and friends. Please forgive my blogging absence. I have been feeling sick alot lately, ya know nausea an vomiting in the mornings.....
Ok just kidding. I should have saved that one until April 1st! But really, the only excuse I have is simply that I am lazy. Ya. I know I stink! Anyway, here is what we have been up to.

This last week was Tim's Spring Break. We didn't do anything spectacular, just hung out together. It was really nice. Brock really does miss his daddy durning the week. It broke his little heart this morning when Tim had to leave. :( But he quickly got over it when I put cars in for him!
Brock is so happy in the mornings! I love that he is always excited to eat his bowl of oatmeal!
In case you didn't know, Brock doesn't wear bibs. He wears capes backwards. This is how I feel sometimes! Sometimes he just wont let me take them off. It's strange I know. And other times when I feel he should keep them on (ie meal time) he refuses to keep them on. What a little stinker.
And here is Brock in his Easter Suit. I know it's early, but I had to put him in it. How handsome is he? Seriously though! (Ok, Tim you don't look to bad yourself ;)
This little jacket even has shoulder pads. Too funny.
And here we have some of Brock's more devious play time activities. Making a mess. Here is exhibit A~ a full bag of animal crackers spilled over the floor. He does look guilty doesn't he?
Tim and I have really made it a priority to go on a adults only date night at least 2 times a month. It has been so rewarding in our relationship to remember that the little things are important too. I talked Tim into going for sushi. I love sushi, but Tim wasn't so sure. Well he actually loved it and we even took Amy and Brian when they came to visit. Yumo!
Look how cute we are! I made Tim dress up a bit. It is just fun to dress up sometimes! For all our Seattle friends, if you want amazing sushi that is very reasonable, go to Village Sushi. It is so goood! Mandi, sorry you cant (pregnant you know) but everybody else definitely should!
And lastly, Brock. I love this little guy. He is so funny sometimes. He is completely enamored with the disney movie cars. We have all things Cars too. Movie, books, cars, jammies. Well he pulled his Cars PJ's out one day and insisted I put them on (insisted really means screamed until I figured out what he wanted). Then he wouldn't let me take them off. I know it looks like he had been working out and bulking up, but really, he was wearing a sweater under there and wouldn't let me take it off. Jeesh. Gotta love him though!
And on to other news, Brock has started saying even more words. Some of his favorites are "dig, dig, dig" "up" "mine" "don't" "nite nite" "booty, booty, booty (thanks Tim)" and lots of other jargon that I can't quite understand yet. He is really good at saying things once (like a person's name) but will never say it again. I am continuing to train for the Pocatello Marathon. It is going well. My body is adjusting to running longer distances. The first time I ran 10 miles I was so tired, I could hardly walk the rest of the day. Last time I ran 10 miles and felt great all day. My legs were a little tired, but that was it. So that is good because 10 miles isn't even half of a marathon! My feet though... well I don't think there is any hope for them!

That is what we have been up to. Pretty boring really. I will try to be better at blogging in the future!

One O'clock church is Rough...

Yes, it's true. 1:00 church for people with kids is just the pits. I think that people with small children who still take naps should always go to early morning church (kids wake us up at the crack of dawn anyway) and families with teenage children should go to afternoon church (after all teen love to sleep in). This just makes sense to me and I think it would end a lot of tears and battles...

This video was filmed at about 6:30 pm. Brock pretty much went to bed at 7 and slept until 8:30 Mon morning. Poor guy!
Here are some more scrap LO's I have done. This first one is one of my favorites to date. Love the colors! Remember that day, Jay? We surprised you!
I really like this one too. Brock is such a goof.
And here is one of sweet little Dani when she was just a wee bitty baby. This is when Tim and I used to beg to babysit here all the time.
And here are a few photos of Brock. Now post would be complete with out that!
I had to post this first pic because I just think he is looking so old here! And he isn't even 2!!!
And there is really nothing too remarkable about this one, except see that box of Jiffy? He refused to eat his oatmeal with out the box. And when we finally relented and gave it to him, he proceeded to sit and read it like a cereal box. What a goofy kid. And we love him so much too!

It's been a while...

Hello family. Sorry I have been so anti-family blog lately! I post to my scrap blog all the time! The reason I haven't blogged much is because nothing is going on up here in dreary ol' Seattle. So here is what I have been doing this past month. Scrapbooking! Doesn't Tim look like a little boy?
Look how sweet Brock is when he is sleeping. I know some of you are probably amazed to see him in this state of sweet innocence... I know he is a crazy one!
And here is a LO I did of me and Tim a few summers ago.
Me and Brock in the delivery room. Can't believe he was ever that small!
At the store I sell my scrap kits at, I had to do a layout with the theme, I Matter. It was a toughie! But here is what I came up with.
Here is another picture from a while ago. I thought this was a cute picture of Jay and Amy and it deserved to be scrapped!
And here is little Dani. I miss her so much!
And here is Brock! What a cheez-it! (I made this kit myself!)
Ok was that scrap book over load? Sorry!
On V-day I ran my first official race. It was a 10K and so much fun! I am definitely addicted to this running thing! Training is going well by the way. I have a 10 mile run this Saturday and am actually looking forward to it! Here is a before picture of me, Melissa and LauriAnn. Aren't we cute for the freezing weather outside?
And in this one I said lets give them our game faces. I guess while the picture was snapped I actually growled... Which is why I look so intimidating and Melissa and LauriAnn are trying not to laugh. I didn't do it on purpose, I just really get into my characters!
Anyway, that is what we have been up too. I will try and be better about blogging!

One of Those Days

It's one of those days. Not one of those days, but a good day. It started great, Brock let me sleep in until 8. Then we went to the gym. I thought the day might turn into one of those days because I was not really getting into my workout. I ended up leaving early (don't worry, I got all my miles in, just skipped weights). Once I got out of the shower at home, I decided to make Black Bottomed Banana Cake. Yumo! At this point I had the i-home cranked up and on shuffle. The i-pod was picking all my favorite songs and I was getting in my mode. Brock was loving this happy Mommy and decided to follow me around like a little puppy. While our treat baked, we cleaned the WHOLE house, did the dishes, made the bed, blew dry my hair (which RARELY happens), straightened my hair (NEVER happens) and put on makeup(never ever ever ever happens). Brock wanted to get ready with me, so he practiced putting things in his hair. Such as: baby shampoo, Tim's deodorant, Q-Tips, and some body spray. Thankfully he doesn't know how to open any of this, so it was just pretend. Except for the Q-tips. I think he used about 50. All the while we were jamming out to our favorite tunes and just having a good time! It is one of those days!
Yum, I better not eat all of this before Tim gets home!
I had to take a self portrait of Brock and I. We were having such a good morning. All of this was accomplished by 12. And to top the morning off, while I was g-chatting I noticed Brock was being awfully quiet. When I went looking, he was trying to put himself down for a nap. Binkie in mouth and Blankie in hand, he was trying to climb into his crib, bless him! So I laid him down and he went right to sleep!

It's one of THOSE days!

A Tale of Two Shoes

It was the best of times (6 miles in 45 minutes, personal best YES!), it was the worst of times (my feet are taking a terrible beating), it was the age of wisdom (fallen arches REALLY hurt), it was the age of foolishness (But I continued to train with the same ole' shoes anyway)....
You get my drift. I don't really need Charles Dickens to make my point. I actually just wanted to talk about my awesome new shoes. I know Tim and I resolved to "not buy anything new" this year, but the health of my trotters was at stake! I looked into various types of shoes. Every time I went to generic athletic shops (ie footlockers etc) and asked for a specific type of shoe, the sales people would point at ALL the shoes and say "this should be what your looking for"... Uh... 46.3 pairs of shoes and they all have high arch support, a snug fit, and are made out of breathable, lighter than air materials??? I didn't think so. So I continued to search for the perfect shoe AND train. Probably not a good idea. Definitely not a good idea the day I ran a long run outside. My feet were killing me. I had to buy new shoes. But, I didn't want to go back to the mall. Luckily I happen to live in Seattle which has a plethora of specialty stores. Which brings me to the actual reason for the post. There is a store in Seattle called Super Jock and Jill. It is strictly a running store and it is amazing. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They had me run in my old shoes so they could see exactly where I need more arch support. Then I tried a few pairs and they sent me on a run around the block to try them out! AND if after a month of running in my new shoes I don't like them, I can bring them back for a FULL refund. I just wanted to post about this place in case any of you living in Seattle are in need of a new pair of shoes. I highly highly recommend this place. Oh, and the best thing, my new shoes didn't cost an arm and a leg. The prices are very competitive. Aren't my new kicks sweet?

Oh, and Brock wanted to show off the beard he has been growing lately. Not bad for an 18 month old!
And how cute is he in his new church suit. It's actually pretty big, so I didn't put the pants on. But still handsome!

An Update

Here are a few LO's I have done recently. In case you don't check my scrap blog, I thought you might like to see a few.

Also, I officially started my training for a marathon this week. I decided to post my progress here, so I have "someone" to answer to. Hopefully you guys can cheer me on! My first week is pretty easy 3 days of 3 miles then one 6 mile run. Should be easy enough. I usually run more than this in a week!

Hppy New Year!

We had quite the eventful Christmas this year. First of all, Seattle had record snow fall this year. Tim and I were lucky enough to leave between storms and thankfully the roads weren't too bad the drive home. A 10 hour drive took 12, so it could have been worse. Brock was an angel too. He slept most of the way and then watched a movie. He didn't melt down once. What a good little guy we have. We are so lucky.
We actually went to Burley first, these pictures are out of order. Oh well.

It snowed like crazy in Inkom at Tim's parents house. Oh and everybody had the flu! It was miserable. Everyone pretty much laid around all day and shared the toilet. Except for sweet little Adri who wasn't sick and took care of everybody!
So much snow you can hardly tell this is the lane up to Jay and Alaina's.
Here is the front of the house. It's pretty much buried.
He were some friendly visitors in the front yard.

Look how much it snowed in about 2 days time!
This is the football scooter Brock got from Tim's parents. He loves anything with wheels on it!
Brock's first experience in the snow. He would wander over to a big drift and just stand there and cry.
Brock got into a lot of mischief at Grandma Pearson's house.  Besides spilling all the gold fish. He also got into the fridge and discovered the eggs. Sigh... We have a long road ahead of us!

Brock loves cars. He wasn't really into opening presents until he saw there was cars inside!
All in all we had a great Christmas. Brock did have the flu for 4 days, but we still had tons of fun with all the family and were grateful for a safe drive home.
We are looking forward a new year and have even set a few resolution for ourselves. Tim and I are really going to try and simplify our lives this year. We are going to try and buy as little as possible new this year. No new clothes, toys or anything we can find at a Goodwill or Craigs List. We will see how this goes, it's going to be tough, but in these harsh economic times, I realize just how much we really have. I am almost ashamed to say that I can go almost 3 weeks without doing Brock's Laundry! That is a little much! We really have all we need in out little home as long as we keep it stocked full of love!
I am going to try and run a marathon this year. I think this will be harder than not buying anything new! LOL
Have a great new year!
