RIP Stevie

Looks innocent enough right? Just a bunch of change. $1.13 to be exact. There is nothing terribly remarkable about this handful of coins except one thing... It came from our TV. That's right.
Yesterday afternoon our TV decided it didn't want to turn on. Well, it is 6 years old, I thought and it has done this sort of thing before. I called Tim and he said he would fiddle with it when he got home. Fiddle with it meaning take the back off, blow some air around in there and put it back on. Seriously, this has worked before. So when Tim gets the back off, much to our surprise we find a whole pocket full of change- jammed down the the front of the screen. As surprised as we were, Brock was positively giddy to have his spare change back. Little punk. After shaking and rolling "Stevie" around we managed to get it all loose. Although, whether this was the source of the problem we'll never know because Tim snapped the circuit board trying to put her back together{ On purpose perhaps? We have been eyeing new TVs for a while now}. So RIP Stevie. You were 6 years old -bought right after Tim and I wed, for under $200- and weighed about 800LBs. You survived 7 moves and 4 cities. You will not be missed.
SO last night Tim went to Costco and bought a shiny new model- heaven forbid he miss a single football game- and we love it. It's hard to get used to a big clear picture though! Christmas came a little early at the Ulrich house I guess.

On a happier note, miss Delilah turned 4 months old! How fast the time goes! Here are are few things about her. She weighs 13 LBs and is 24 Inches long. That is the 50%. She is much smaller then Brock was. She loves to eat though. She sleeps from about 6:30pm to 5 or 6 am and then eats and goes back to sleep for a bit. That's nice, but she doesn't sleep in the afternoon, no matter how hard I have tried. I gave up. At least she takes a good morning nap. She is starting to play with toys and can be entertained by he brother Brock for a LONG time. Delilah LOVES Brock. She saves some of her biggest smiles for him and he eats it up. Brock is such a good big brother. We are lucky to have such great kids!

I'll be Better...

But probably not...
Anywho, as I sit carousing through my friends blogs, I decided it's about time I do something about my own. You would think I'd have tons to say, what with a 3 year old and a 3 month old on my hands. Not to mention Tim, that would be a blog all it's own, if I had the energy. Also, there is nothing to do right now since the kids are in bed and Tim is engrossed in the Hunger Games {I love when I'm right}. But, besides all that, I just need to be better at writing stuff down. Brock is such a silly turd {oh, and I have called him this so many times, he now calls me Silly Turd too} that I need to document the things he says and does. So I don't forget. He certainly keeps me on my tippy toes. Just last week Tim was in MN for and interview. On the first day of Tim's trip, Brock locks the door to his bathroom. Which posts a problem for us all since Delilah cant {or won't} nap in her crib- which means she has taken up camp 2-3 times a day in my bathroom. Strange I know she likes the fan or something. So for the first few days I try having her nap in her room. Not working and by the 3rd day {the day of Tim's arrival} I give up and put her in my bathroom. Brock can pee outside, right. Only Tim's not coming home Sat, he got snowed in and wont be home until Sunday night - late. Ya thanks Brock, you made that week a little more interesting.

It's not all bad though! Just look how cute Delilah is in tights, skirt, and boots. Just ignore the massive wet spot from her constant drooling. And no she is not teething. Just has lots of spit I guess {Silly Turd}
While Tim was off on yet another interview {this time in Phoenix this time for a week}, We visited family. Brock and Papa Jay Bird had a great ole time in the leaves!
And Brock got to go trick or treating with Papa Pearson. Here he is dipping his hand in Mee-Maw's candy stash early. It didn't matter though. She only had like 6 trick or treaters. I gave all the chocolate a great home though!
Tim and I at a BSU game. We got to watch from the top box. It was a little Richie Rich, but we had fun.
*Brock Story- This boy -Silly Turd- Likes to climb in bed with me and Tim first thing in the morning. Not a big deal usually. But sometimes he gets up early. Too early. And on this day is was too early. So he left to go find cartoons, or so we thought. It was very quiet and we got to sleep in for an extra half hour. Well the reason it was so quiet was because Brock was concentrating as hard as he could to paint his nails. He didn't do such a bad job either, but you should have seen the couch! I cleaned it before I could take a picture. That is my lesson for leaving my things out at night!
Brock Story #2- well more like a little clipping- we must go to Costco too much because as Brock was eating some grapes he found some toothpicks and made samples. He was having a grand time until Tim or I actually tried to sample them. That concept is a little fuzzy still.
And Brock. He is still a crazy sleeper.
And Brock. Silly Turd. I just love this smiling face.
And a little old, but here was a family picture on Delilah's blessing day.
Whew, ok I solemnly swear that I will be better at blogging. It's hard because I do the face book thing all the time, but this is better way to remember life's little stories!

Comparison

So everybody thinks Brock and Delilah look just alike. I don't really see it. So I thought we could do a little comparing. What do you all think?
Anyway, everything is going well here. Brock is such a great big brother. He is so attentive to his sister. Telling her she is cute, giving her kisses and always wanting to see her "big blue eyes". When she is chilling on the floor or in her baby seat, he loves to sit by her and talk to her. Even reads her stories. And Delilah just LOVES Brock too. Whenever he is near she just stares right at him. I am so lucky to have such great kids.

And her is a shot of me and D. People think she looks just like {sorry once again Tim}. Please excuse the face without make-up. However, please note the blowdried hair. :)

On a quick side note, we are blessing Delilah Sept 13. If you are able to come leave a comment so I can add you to my email list with all the details.

The "Birth"day

Well I do suppose I owe you all a birth story? It's a pretty good one I guess. I was scheduled to be induced on Thursday the 29th. Believe me, this day was taking it's time getting here! It would be 7 days past the due date. Ugh! On Tuesday, Tim kept saying "this is the day, I just know it. This is the day". I had little belief in that statement. So we went to bed and I was not expecting anything. Well, about 3 am I woke up with contractions. I thought nothing of this since it had been happening all week. They continued on for about an hour and started becoming more regular and stronger. I decided to get up and see if that helped because at this point I still didn't believe I was in actual labor, I'm just not that lucky! Well I stood up, walked the 3 steps to the bathroom and..... Thundercats A-go!!!!!!! my water broke. What a strange feeling! So I woke Tim up and I don't think he believed me until I showed him my wet pants. By the time I had showered, we got a sitter for Brock, and Tim had showered, it was almost 5 am. Tim thought he had all the time in the world. I kept telling him to hurry up. He didn't believe me when I said my contractions were about 3-4 mins apart. And can I just say, OUCH!

We finally got to the hospital and my contractions were pretty strong. The triage nurse checked me and I was already at a 4. At this point I am begging for my epidural. I'll admit, I don't like pain and contractions are no exception. So they wheel me down to labor and delivery. My contractions are getting stronger and longer. So I ask about that pain medication once again. All that is getting me through the pain is the thought of sweet relief a few mins away. The nurse had to check me again before the epidural, and Whoa! I am at a 7. That's a lot of dilation in 20 mins. Now the nurse is trying to find a head..... nope can't feel a head..... They ask me if she is breech and no, not to my knowledge.... did I feel her turn recently..... nope would have felt that.....

So the nurse runs off to get an ulrta sound machine. This is when the room turns chaotic. They can't get a hold of my doc {she's teaching aerobics}, contractions are speeding up, and the baby is having "decels" which Tim says means her heart rate was staying low after the contractions. We check the baby with ulrta sound and sure enough she is breech. C-Section! yay! not really. I start bawling right about now because I do not want this, I hadn't planned on it and well the contractions were really starting to bother me. They gave me something to slow the contractions down {relief!!} and wheeled me into OR. Finally, the spinal tap. Oh it felt so nice. Relief, welcome, welcome relief. Well, they never got ahold of my doc, but the on call doc was really nice. Apparently she is known for creating the smallest cut when preforming C-Sections. I guess that's a plus. Once I was numb, it all went pretty quickly. Tim was right by my head the whole time which was great because I needed him there. Right below, we have a newly minted baby girl. Straight out of the womb. Oh and she was breech. Very breech. Has been for a long time. That is why I was carrying so "high" these last couple of weeks.
Being weighed for the first time. She came out with a bang- pooping, peeing and crying crying crying! She weighed 7.6 lbs and was 21.5 inches long. Not too bad for being 6 days over due!
She cried until they were done stitching me up and wheeled me into the recovery room. About a half hour. I didn't think she would be hungry because Brock wasn't interested in eating for about 2 days, but we tried it and -bless her- she opened wide and latched right on! A born eater. She was much more content after that.

She is a pretty alert newborn when she is awake. And I just think she is the cutest. My little Delilah Jae~
Brock loves her too. He is very proud of his little sister and really likes to be my big helper bringing her diapers and wipes to me.
This is Delilah in her going home out fit. I think she wanted to stay.
My parents with my kids. Don't they look cute?
All in all it has been a good experience. I really don't ever want another C-Section. The recovery isn't fun. Here is has been a week and I am still very sore. It's hard not to be able to pick Brock up or let him sit on my stomach. Getting out of bed is rough. Our bed is so high. Tim has been really helpful by Bringing Delilah to me at night to eat. Which is only 2x a night, so we can't complain. So far we have adjusted well to having a new baby. Our little family is doing well! I will hopefully keep the blog up better now that I have 2 little kidlets to show off!

Birthday Boy!

We finally got Tim back this weekend and it's so nice! We missed him tons! A month is a long time with out a Daddy. We have been having a ton of fun since he got home. Washing the car~

We went to the train dept with my parents. Brock wanted to show my parents the train. He loves it! Here at the rocks. Me and my 38 week belly!

Brock's birthday was the 4th of July! We had so much fun opening presents with my parents. Here the boys are with the sparklers-
His favorite presents- Woody and Buzz! He loves these guys. It's cute to see his play. He kept making them kiss though... LOL Don't know where he picked that up!
He kept telling Tim, open it quickly!

Almost burned his lips off trying to blow out the candles~
He was so excited about his cake and presents. I had his cake in the fridge because it was so hot in the house and he kept opening the fridge to check on it, show it to Me-mah or Papa. It was cute.

I can't believe Brock is 3 years old now! I have to say that I think the saying Terrible Two's is a farce. Brock was a perfectly pleasant 2 year old. 3? I am not sure what this year will bring. Independence for sure. Brock wants to do everything by himself! Here are a few other things about Brock at this age-
- He loves Trains still. Plays with them every single day for hours. Although Woody and Buzz have encroached on that time lately.
- He is very social. He loves to play with any kids anywhere.
-He is quite talkative. He says the funniest things "Delicious!" "I need you me" "Love you bye bye" "I lost my daddy" and "my tummy hurts" - only when he wants food.
- He loves to help out. He cleans up his toys really well and loves to help sort laundry.
- He loves to sing. He now sings songs to me when he goes to sleep instead of me singing to him.

This is just a small sample, he is so silly! I love this little boy, he certainly keeps life interesting!

She Does it Again!!!

Two times in one month?!?! That's gotta be a record of some sort!

Anywho-- summer seems to have finally set in and we are loving in! I am so glad I we got a house with a back yard, because we spend a good deal of the day and night just out there playing. I got Brock a water gun at the used store and he has had a blast chasing Tim around the yard with it.

Brock's crazy sleeping continues on. He some how manages to build this train track in the dark on his bed. Then curled up right inside it and passed out. It's pretty cute.
This last Sat it was in the 80's!!! LOVING IT!! We had the Harris family over for a BBQ and let the kids run through the sprinklers. Brock loved it. Haylie was a little timid, testing out the water, but both kids ended playing in it for about an hour! It was great!

Here is my mother's Day gift. A bike trailer. We are having so much fun with this! We have been using it 2x a day. Brock and I go in the morning, then we all go in the evening. It is the perfect workout for a pregnant lady too (31 weeks pregnant mind you, 9 more weeks to go!!!) It is low impact, yet gets my heart rate up so I actually feel like I get a work out. I only wish I would have bought one sooner. Doesn't Brock look cute in his helmut!
And we went to Clarie's school carnival. Brock had a blast.

Sorry dad, I ate all the cotton candy. :(

Riding the train. Of course this was popular with Brock!
They even had a pony ride. I though Brock would be all over this, but as soon as the pony sniffed his leg, he was D O N E done! He did not want anything to do with those ponies!
