NEVER AGAIN!!!

So last night after bath, Tim talked me into giving Brock's hair a trim. I agreed as long I did the cutting. So behold below how cute Brock looks when mom cuts his hair. Nice and handsome right?

Well, Tim decided that his hair was indeed not even, and look what he did to my little boy!

Tim will never come anywhere near my child with scissors again! Brock I'm sorry that you have to look like the dude from Dumb and Dummber for the next few weeks.

I love my little Man!!!

I thought I would just do a quick little post about how much I love my little Brockster. He has been so stinkin' cute lately that I feel like I am constantly scooping him up in my arms to kiss his chubby cheeks (much to his dismay!). Now that he is walking he gets into all sorts of things that often leave Tim and I smiling or laughing. He has taken a liking to this picture of my grandma that I keep on the nightstand. When ever he goes in our room he grabs it and carries it around everywhere. Why? Don't know. He just likes Grandma Beth I guess! He has also started using a plethora of words. The more decipherable include lots of Mama, baba, Bye, ball, this, and (my personal favorite) yum yum yum. He says that when he is hungry or wants a bite of whatever were eating. I don't know where he picked it up, but I think it's funny. He also "gobbles". We haven't figured out what this means yet.
This is how huge his hair is when he wakes up. I know it needs a trim, but I can't bring myself to do it!
We have to keep our bathroom door shut at all times because Brock loves TP. He will unravel a whole roll in no time. As seen above, he had trailed it all through our apartment before Tim or I realized what he had gotten into.
A new favorite, PB and J! Easy meal, lots of clean up. But, he sure enjoys making the mess, eating the mess, licking the mess off the high chair tray...

AMAZING!!!

Hello everybody! In my newfound quest to be frugal (City living will do that to poor kids like me ;) I have been constantly searching blogs and coupon sites for the best deals. Some of these ladies buy a weeks worth of groceries for $.40!! That is CENTS not dollars I don't know how they do it, but I am trying to learn because that's freakin' amazing!!! Anyway, while I was browsing my google readers recommendations (thanks to Mandi for the introduction to the wonderfulness that is google reader)  I stumbled upon a blog offering a coupon for mini delights. If you are a woman or just plain NORMAL, sometimes you crave a little chocolate or cake, but don't want to make a whole pan (lest you cave and eat the whole thing; guilty, Guilty, GUILTY!) So Warm Delights seems like the perfect solution, except who wants to pay like $2 for a small snack. Well, I discovered that you can recreate a mini-cake easily with the cake mix I'm sure you all have in your cupboards. According to the post, all you have to do is put 3 Tbs cake mix and 1 Tbs + 1 tsp water in a small bowl (I used a small sized tupperware thing) mix and microwave for 30 seconds. I did not believe this would work.... But it does! And the cake tasted perfectly yummy, especially when smothered in chocolate frosting. Do you have any idea how many mini cakes you can make from a whole cake mix? I'm sure I'll be the first to find out since my mouth is full of sweet-toothes! Anyway, I just thought I would pass this on because one box of cake mix is about the same price, if not cheaper than the minis. Cool huh? I can't wait until Brock takes lunches to school and I can "bake" him cake every morning!

ET the Couch Potato

So lately Brock has been waking up grouchy in the morning. The only thing he likes is to be wrapped up tight in his "lovey" (he seriously is attached to this thing) and sat on the couch until he can properly wake up. I added these photos because Tim made the comment that he looked like ET. I have to agree. Poor kid. What do you guys think?

Seattle has some amazing wading pools. I didn't even know that public wading parks existed. Dang It little Burley! Anyway, we have been going a few times a week to take advantage of sunlight, and tire Brock out for afternoon nap. Brock loves these parks. He is not afraid to walk out in the middle of a group of "big kids" and monopolize the water. Funny now, potentially problematic later.
This particular spout was supposed to be a sunken ship.
Brock loves the slide. He wanted to go down over and over agin. He got pretty sad when it was time to go. That is the downside of hard play. Tired and crankiness until he falls asleep.

Brock was using this frog as a drinking fountain. I trust that the city of Seattle uses clean water...

New Pictures FINALLY!!

Hey everybody! Tim and I finally bought a camera cord! Yay! Thank you Amazon for the $1 cord. We were putting it off and putting it off to buy a new one because at the stores here they are like $20. So yay. I also got my copy of Breaking Dawn finally. I loved it. Luckily for Tim I finished it in a day. I loved the book. That's all I'll say about that...

Tim and I bought a REI backpack off of Craig's List for $50. We have been hiking a lot trying to get our monies worth. We definitely have too. Brock loves this thing. I recommend buying a backpack if your kid doesn't sit well in a stroller anymore. Brock will sit in his backpack forever. Anyway, here are a few photos of our hiking adventures.

RATTLE SNAKE LAKE

This is Rattlesnake lake. We had to hike 2 1/2 miles and 1200 ft of elevation to get here. I about died, but the lake was beautiful. We sat on this huge rock this was like a cliff face. I was a little freaked to let Brock out, but he did ok. I did not let him anywhere near the ledge.
Looking like a true Seattle Hippie Hiker!
Look how high up we are! Seattle is so beautiful, look at all the trees and mountains.
That little group of roads way down there was our parking lot. Looks tiny doesn't it?
I threw this photo in because I love Brock's Curls! Look how curly his hair is getting!

COUGAR MOUNTAIN
On a scary log bridge that looked about 100 years old. Brock loves to hike.
Taking a little break by Cougar falls, which was actually a little trickle of water flowing over a bolder. Oh well. Fun hike anyway. The rock below was coved in weird moss that looked like green shag carpet.

Finally, BROCK IS WALKING! For actually about 2 weeks, but I am finally posting about it. This is a video we took right after he started walking, so he is still kind of shaky. But he is a pro now. I think it is so funny when he walks around because he holds his arms straight out like Frankenstein. He still falls down a lot, but is getting better every day. We love him so much, he makes us laugh and smile so much!

I'm not very patient...

I just had to write a quick little rant about amazon.com and my DEAR husband. Well thanks to amazon promising a copy of Breaking Dawn on my doorstep YESTERDAY - which did not come- I have not been able to sit still. Its all I can do not to look online and ruin the whole book for myself. I am also very tempted to run to Barnes and Noble and just buy a second copy. I am chewing my nails and trying to make myself read A Tale of Two Cities (ya right) to pass the time. Tim thinking he will help hops online and proceeds to shamelessly read all reviews for the book (which are not good) and the spoilers!!! Now he is just taunting me with newly found information. It's all I can do not to gag him and lock him in a closet until tomorrow when my book DOES come (so help me if it doesn't). I am going crazy with suspense and everything else. So if any of you think my hair looks considerably thinner next time you see me or if there are just huge bald patches.....
