Love This Face

If any of you are wondering why Brock is so spoiled, let me ask you a question. How could you say no to this face?

Buh-Bye Binkie!

At Tim's request, I tried to "man up" the blog a little bit. So say good bye to soft pinks and cute design and hello to weird little owl in celebration of the apparently "manly" season of fall. I don't know why he cares so much. He never reads the blog and I'm sure none of our friend's husbands sit around and blog serf every night. But whatever. Compromise, it's what marriage is all about, right?

This week we have been trying to "loose" the binkie. This "plug" has generously served it's purpose. So much so, that when Brock has it in his mouth, he doesn't make a peep. I can't even tell if he smiles. But, when I take it out, he starts jabbering away! Unfortunately though, when I unplug the little peanut, lots of other stuff comes through too. Like whining, crying and the occasional high pitched scream.  I suppose I can either sacrifice my child's dental health for a few extra moments of silence or, well like every other parent, get used to it. I have to admit, it's been a hard a hard few days, but Brock has done wonderfully. He goes all day with out the binkie with out much trouble. We are still working on going sans binkie at nap time and bed time. We put him down with out it last night and he went to sleep just fine. However, he woke up early this morning, around 3. He sat and talked to himself for about an hour. Didn't cry, just carried on a perfectly pleasant conversation with himself. I don't know if the absence of his binkie had anything to do with this, but it was funny all the same. I'm not ready to try and put him down with out it at nap yet because I am not ready to sacrifice potentially 4 hours of peace and quiet a day!

Anyway, as Brock is screaming and trying to push me out of my computer chair to get my attention, I might throw him the binkie. Just this once. Man, I hate when Tim has school till 8 at night...

Here is a video update for the Grandparents. Not great quality, we need to buy a real video camera.

Good Bye Lloyd Christmas

I was pretty hesitant to post these pictures... These are proof that I know longer have a BABY boy. He is now a  LITTLE boy. An official toddler. When I think about it, it almost makes me cry. His curls are forever GONE. Everyone I talk to says that when they cut their babies curls, they never returned. Sniff sniff. I guess I had to cut is some time. But here are the requested pictures for my dear friend Chelsea, whom I am thinking of starting a SPEEDING TICKET TRUST FUND! If you want to donate, let me know! :)

Oh those beloved curls!!!

Half done.
Not even, but its gone, all gone.. He is a lot less sweaty now!

Random Summertime Photos

I recently got a lot of photos that my friend Jo has taken of us over this summer. I thought I would share them with you because summer is almost over and I am going to be so sad!
Family photo on a hike.
Brock lovin' the stair action at the cabin!
Here we are at Phantom. See how fancy?
Jo and Sean at Phantom with us. Too bad we can't see Fubu... he he he.
Here we are on a hike to a lighthouse on Discovery Park. It was a good hike, but the light house was disappointing. It was more like a one story cottage.
The ocean and the beach below. Brock had so much fun on the beach. And he only tried to eat sand and shells once...ok maybe twice.
I miss this hair...  :(

Music of the Night

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is enjoying nice weather like we are in Seattle. Summer has decided to make a come back and all week it has been in the 70's. Way nice. Unfortunately  Brock is now on the one nap a day schedule, so he sleeps all afternoon anyway! I still enjoy the sunshine!

Tim and I had the opportunity to go to Phantom of the Opera the other night! It was so much fun to get all dressed up and go out like fancy people (no vomit on me here!) and enjoy a night out. The Paramount Theater was beautiful inside and the play was amazing.  The tickets were a little pricey, but we figured it would be a long time until we would be able to do this again. I am so glad we splurged! I have been a fan since Jr high. I alway sympathize with the Phantom though. Just give the guy a little love?!!

Brock also started swimming lessons today! All we learned today was how to kick our legs. Brock did not like being on his stomach to kick. He would wrap his arms around my neck and hold on for dear life.  He didn't mind kicking on his back so much as long as he could rest his head on my chest. I think Brock had a lot of fun. The pool was a little cold however, and by the end of the lesson his lips were deeply colored blue! Poor kid. I'm going to have to bring my camera next time so I can show you all. It was funny.

AND LASTLY
A new Page!!!
My older brother in Pocatello sent me some pictures earlier this week and one of Dani is my desktop background. Sorry Brock for now you've got the boot! Anyway, this picture has been staring me in the face for days and I just had to scrap it. She is so cute and Tim and I are always talking about her, so now all our friends can see who we are talking about. I remember the day she was born, we went to visit her in the hospital and as I held her I looked at Tim with puppy dog eyes and said "Please?". He firmly refused. But low and behold after being Danika's favorite secondary care givers, Brock was born 2 years later. So this is a thank you to Dani for being so dang cute!

Lets Get Digital, Digital

(to the song Let's Get Physical... Anyway,)
Due to my recent acquisition of Adobe Photoshop Element 6, I have been obsessively scrapbooking on my computer. It is a lot of fun, much faster and absolutely NO clean up! I still love my paper crafts, don't get me wrong. I can't completely  abandon them yet, mainly because I have a TON of supplies, but for now, Digital is where it's at. At least Brock can't ruin my page before I get it safely into it's plastic protective sleeve. I thought I'd share some of my creations with you because they are so fun! I bought a book all about Photoshop, and hopefully I can start creating my own "kits". I've been looking into it, and it looks like a lot of fun! I am definitely interested! Well, let me know what you think!

WWAMI-ly Love

Labor day weekend we had a fun camping trip to Snoqualmie, just outside of Seattle. We were right by Summit. Tim found a huge cabin that 13 adults and 6 kids fit pretty comfortably in. It was so much fun to hang with the WWAMI-ly (WWAMI family, I wasn't clever enough to coin the term, but I'm going to steal it!). We played lots of games, rockband, darts and went on a few hikes. There was two sets or stairs so I didn't even hardly see Brock as he spent the majority of his time honing his mad skills on the stairs!  Tim played a lot of foose (spelling?) ball and playing horse with the little basketball set.
Here We are, wives rocking the rockband! I'm partial to the drums myself. Singing is fun too, especially because I have no reserve and like to get into it!
Due to the look of intensity on my face I'm going to say I was playing on expert...
Brock had his first taste of Red Vines this weekend. Yum. Here he is in the basketball thing.
Yes stairs!!!
We had just gotten out of a waterfall that we hiked to. Notice how I look like a wet dog and Jo manages to still look pretty. No fair!
Most of the WWAMI-ly at a waterfall. Poor Brock got soaked. It was pretty cool though!

Good Bye Cabin Sweet Cabin!
Tim Sean and Lane playing ball.
We had so much fun, and just a quick thanks to Mandi for taking such great pictures and then posting them so I could steal them, because the dork that I am forgot my camera!
