Memorial Day Mayhem

Well, I don't know how, but we survived Memorial Day Weekend. It is usually a relaxing time for Tim and I at the Lodge. Of course we have never taken a baby up there (last year I was pregnant). We figured Brock would do okay, but boy were we ever so wrong. The first night there we slept in the same room as him. BAD IDEA. He tossed and turned so much that Tim and I maybe got about 4 hours of sleep total. He also got in bed with us around 4. Good for Tim, bad for me. Brock is such a snuggler that I couldn't even roll over because he was glued to the inside of my armpit the whole time. Then the next day he got sick. Lots of coughing and runny nose and CRANKINESS!!! The last night there he coughed all night and would only sleep if Tim or I were rocking him. So needless to say, we lost more sleep than we actually got. And it rained. And we COULD NOT win a game of Canasta. Despite the dire prospects, below are a few picture of the good times we did have!
One of Brock's rare happy times that weekend. He is sitting with "Grandpa Howard" who put a plate on his head and he just thought it was hilarious.
Lovin' my AWESOME plate hat!

We usually do a lot of 4-wheeling on this weekend, but due to the rain, didn't leave the lodge. However, we did take Brock for a ride around the parking lot and although I couldn't get him to smile, he still enjoyed the ride. He loves to steer.
During one of the precious moments of sunshine, Tim decided to mow the massive lawn. We put Brock on for a lap and could not get him off! I would walk up to get him and he would cling on to Tim for dear life. He just wanted nothing to do with me while Tim was mowing the lawn. Hopefully he will be this enthusiastic about mowing the lawn in about 10 years ;-)

The day after we got home from Mink Creek I took Brock into the Dr. Turns out he had a double ear infection and a bronchial infection. Poor guy. So we gave him a shot to speed up the healing process. He DID NOT like that at all. Poor guy. This same day he discovered the stairs at Grandma Pearson's house. If you look above you can see the bruise on his forehead and little cut on my little baby boy's nose. Yup, he fell down the stairs. He had a pretty nasty bloody nose. What a rough day for my little guy. But, a day later he is doing much better. Mastered going up the stairs and the antibiotics are kicking in! Hopefully next year the lodge will be more RELAXING!

One Crazy Week

Poor Brock. He is going to have a tough week. My little guy is used to taking 2 2hour naps a day. Well Monday we dragged him all the way to Seattle in hopes to score and awesome apartment management position (think free rent). Thanks to Lucy for the contact info with her sister, she has been a great source of info. Anyway Brock made the whole 5 hour drive with maybe a 45 min nap because there was people in the back with him and he couldn't just relax. So finally around 3:30 we were making our way to our hotel so Brock could take a nap. He had other plans. He literally passed out on the way over. Mandi and I kept tickling his toes and shaking him, but to no avail. The little guy was just pooped. Unfortunately the drive to the hotel was only about 30 minutes, so he woke up more cranky that to begin with.
Too tired to even suck on the beloved binkie.
This is his new girlfriend Haylie. She was tired too!
Brock did not sleep on the way home from Seattle either! On Thursday we have to make a 5 hour drive to Boise, then on Friday to Burley and straight from there, camping in Preston! The poor little guy is going to be seriously sleep deprived at the end of the week. But hey, if we get free rent for a year, then a week of crankiness is worth it right?

Roastin' at Robinson's

We went to Robinson Park with the WWAMI's. It was a lot of fun. We had a camp fire and roasted brats and marshmallows. One couple even got creative and roasted chicken and popped popcorn. We made dutch oven peach cobbler and it was great. Thank you TJ and Mandi. It was nice to get together with all the friends we have made here over the semester on last time before we all disperse for the summer

We couldn't get Brock to smile. I don't think he knew what to think of this mossy rock.

Tim wanted to get a nice picture of Brock by a stream. But he set him down right by a water snake. I was freaking out that it would attack him or something (hey I got bit by one once). So we didn't have time to make him smile. And he did not like the grass.

Brock on the move in his AWESOME Boise State jersey. Go Broncos!

This is a new sleeping position Brock has recently discovered. How do they sleep like this? He loves sleeping with his little bum in the air. Every time we go to get him in the morning, this is what we find. Amazing.

Just a few more pictures from Robinson Park. Sorry they are not in the correct order.

HE SAID SHE SAID

A little while ago I made a he said she said scrapbook for Tim. It's basically a little book with a bunch of fun questions and a he said/she said answers. We think it's fun, hopefully you guys will enjoy a little bit of it.

Q. The dream boy or girl in high school?
Athletic, thin, long brown hair with highlights, plain (no frills) outgoing
I liked the skinny rocker boys with a wild side.

Q. Love at first sight?
She totally caught my eye! I instantly began conjuring a plan to steal her away from her then current boyfriend. I knew that I would make her my queen.
No. I thought he was cute and all, but too much of a big flirt. It took me a while to take him seriously.

Q. Biggest surprise about being married?
The flippin' socks at the end of the bed!!
Being so poor!!

Q.His/her most annoying habit?
Leaving crusty dishes out or when she leaves a trail of stuff from one end of the house to the other!
Being obnoxious on purpose! That stupid Meet the Parents karate thing.

Q . Why do you love him/her?
Cause she takes care of me and makes me feel important. She also ACTS interested in all my stories and laughs at my stupid jokes.
Because his smile always melts me and he know how to make me laugh. He takes care of me and most of all because he loves me even when I am hard to handle.

Well this was when we were first married and it's all pretty much the same. Amazing how two crazy people can fall in love and make it work.

SCHA-WING!

Brock had his first ride in a swing the other day. The pictures are Adorable. Except in a few he couldn't keep his head up and I think there is a slight resemblance to Jaba the Hut. Oh well he is still the CUTEST little guy I know!

One year down and... like... a MILLION to go

Well Tim finally finished his last final of the year. YES! Our first year of medical school was such a learning experience for the both of us. Tim learned all about the body and I learned what life would be like if I was a widow! Here are a few pictures of our little WWAMI journey this year! Enjoy!
ISP ~ Insane Study Posse. Tim spent a lot of time with Mo, DJ, and Alison.

The opening WWAMI social. Brock was only a month old and he and Tony have matching Mohawks.

And the WWAMI Halloween part. Lots of fun and dancing. We dressed Brock up as Broccoli. He was so cute!

And my personal favorite, Nacho Libre and the PREGNANT nun!

Kip and Deb from Napoleon Dynamite. I know, resemblance is uncanny. Tim worked on that mustache for quite some time.

The WWAMI wives eventually wised up and started hanging out on our own. Swimming in the kiddie pool in Pullman was great!

And finally the white coat ceremony. Owen, Jeff, Tim and Brock. Four future Doctors!

THE FIRST ONE!!!

Well,  EVERYBODY has been bugging me to get blogging, so here we are! The first blog. Hopefully this will catch on because Brock does amazing things EVERYDAY!
Tonight the sister missionaries came over and he was showing off all over the place. He kept crawling across the living room floor at top speed then stopping to flash his CHEESIEST grin at the sisters. They of course loved it. Sometimes I don't know what I am going to do with my little HAM!!!
This is a video from Brock's first crawling expedition. The boy loves food, it was the only successful way we could get him to crawl. Ahh, the bribery starts early in life.
